While starting a new church plant was not our intention at the time, our history as Christ Church informally began when a growing number of us simply continued to gather in the spring of 2021 to worship the Saviour & King of kings.
As our surrounding culture continues to rage and plot in vain against the LORD and His Anointed—Jesus Christ, we have committed to joyfully set aside the empty philosophies and fears that so easily entangle us, in order to unite as a family of faith who have been called together by God’s grace, fixing our lives and worship upon Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.
OUR DOCTRINE
THE ESSENTIAL GROUNDS THAT UNITE CHRIST CHURCH IS THE GOSPEL OF THE ONLY ETERNAL & TRIUNE GOD WHO MADE THE HEAVENS & THE EARTH. We trust wholly in the Holy Spirit’s living testimony in the Bible, that God the Father sent His eternally begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save us from sin and eternal wrath. This Good News is to be received by the grace of the Spirit through faith in Christ Jesus to the glory of the Father. This is the power of God for salvation from sin and damnation to everyone who believes, and there is salvation in no one else, nor by any other means or works of righteousness (John 3:16-18; Rom 1:16; 2 Thess 1:9; Acts 4:11; Titus 3:5-7).

AFFILIATION
Currently we are not affiliated with any particular denomination. This is not to be confused with a non-denominational church. Though an independent congregation, we are grateful for the rich spiritual heritage we have received in the faith. As a congregation, we identify with reformed Baptist distinctives and practices, and we seek to network with like minded churches and ministries that also hold to the convictions of historic Evangelical convictions.
OUR LEADERSHIP
The aim of Christ Church is to call and submit to the leadership of biblically qualified and faithful Elders (also called “Pastors” or “overseers/bishops” in the Bible) and Deacons. (1 Timothy 3:1-13; Hebrews 13:7-17)
Pastor Scott grew up in Norwood, ON hearing and neglecting the call to forsake his love of sin and follow Christ more times than he could remember, until the Lord graciously saved him in high school turning his own desires and future plans for his life upside down. His growing hunger to study the Word eventually led him to pursue biblical studies at Rocky Mountain College in Calgary where he graduated in 2014. He has served in various roles of pastoral ministry in Alberta beginning in 2012 and then in Ontario since 2019, and was involved in the founding of Christ Church from its beginning and forming in 2021. Scott met his wife Rosie while he was attempting to sing in their choir at bible college, and they have since been blessed with six children.
